An unpaid carer is anyone, of any age, who cares for a family member or friend, who could not cope without the support they provide.
Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board recognises that unpaid carers provide important and vital services to the people they care for, physically, practically, and emotionally.
We also recognise that being a carer for a friend or family member can come with challenges. So MSE ICB has been working with system partners including Thurrock Council, Thurrock Healthwatch, and local carers to develop an All-Age Carers Strategy and Action Plan to improve the support available to carers. To not only support them in their caring role, but to encourage them to access support for their own Health & Wellbeing needs.
The draft strategy is now available to view and includes the opportunity to provide feedback on the strategy before it is finalised.
